CTOMIT BASKETBALL LEAGUE 2012 SEASON (LOCK-OUT)

Its seems that it will be a gloom year for the CTOMIT Basketball League as they approach the 10th Season. Lacking of teams playing this season the organizer is forced postponed the start of the season in February, instead they are looking for other options to fill in the gap.

The 1993 Air Jordan 8 is back, this time the kicks was redesign to compete with the other breeds of sneakers in the market. But what are the difference with the 2011 Jordan 8 2011 and the 1993 Jordan 8.

First difference is the tongue logo, the original logo is the jumpman inside a circle. the new logo still embed the jumpman logo but its background are the ball and basketball ring. Second is the hyperfuse technology in the side panel of the shoes which make the shoes much lighter than the original. With the mid-cut design and unique side and inner design, the Air Jordan 8.0 is considered a hybrid in the Jordan collection.

Eagles Won the Championship in Overtime

It took an additional 5 minutes to determine the 2011 Champions. But the Eagles where able to capture the crown after a much contested game. Cholo Morato a silent contributor to the team has pounded  12 rebounds, one of which is the crucial offensive rebound enabling him to score plus a foul from Ian Suasba.

NBA 2K12 release this October

And you thought that 2K11 will be a classic, as his Airness, Michael Jordan was part of the NBA 2K11 rosters. Gamers can play the classic games of Jordan. and able to access Jordan classic shoes and be come a Jordan endorser as well.

Now in NBA 2K12, 2K did not just brought back Michael Jordan, but they also included some of Jordan’s friends like: Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Julius Erving and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.(seems to be a great first five)

What do we expect from 2K12? well, I don’t know about you. but seeing Jordan and Erving together is a classic. Can’t wait to create a new team that will include this legends and to match them with the all hype young blood, such as Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemare. October 4 is the release date.

2 seasons in 2012?

The organizing committee is looking at two season for next year’s conference. The first season will be on February while the next season start on August. Each season will be a single round robin.

Spartans are in the Finals, WildCats Force Game 2

The Eagles where not flying high as expected as the defending champions WildCats are back in the fight by removing the twice to beat advantage of the CPI Eagles. It was a dominating 1st quarter, as the WildCats finished the quarter with the score 22-6. The Eagles tried to catch up in the second quarter but could not penetrate the middle with the 2 towers protecting the basket. Tiongco has 5 blocks while Gaw has 3 blocks, hence eliminating the inside game of the Eagles. The game ended with the WildCats forcing a game 2 in the semis with a win of 71-55.

The PEGA Spartans have demolished the MS Stallions with a 67-59 win. C-Manoza is showing off his MVP form as he contribute 17 pts (9pts coming from the 3pts line), 6 rebounds and 1 steal. While Erwin Loren contribute 14 pts and 13 rebounds and Andrei Dacanay scored 13 points with 10 rebounds.

Start if Semis on Thursday

After much delay due to court unavailability. the semis will now start on Thursday, July 21, 2011

Game 1 – The CPI Eagles square off with the TSS Wildcats. @ 7pm. where the two top rookie Tiongco and Bautista shows off their worth.

Game 2 – The top seed PEGA Spartans is looking to close the out the MS Stallions. Without their sensational rookie, the Stallions will need to rely on their star point guard. Jeff Fabregas to lead the way.

Wildcats and the Stallions need to win the game to extend the series. Will they be able to defy the twice to beat advantage of the top two teams?

Comparing LeBron with Jordan

The 2011 Finals fever is on, as the Miami Heat face off with the aging Dallas Mavericks. With the season at 2-1, the people can’t stop to compare the King James and his “Airness” Michael Jordan.

in my opinion, why compare at all? It’s like comparing apples with oranges. Comparing the styles, Jordan is finesse while James is power. I see more of Charles Barkley in James. rather than his Airness. Let me define on why the two should not be compared at all.

1. Jordan career started at Chicago and ended in Chicago (I just considered his stint in the Wizard trial run), LeBron, as we all know left Cleveland and brought his talent in south beach.

2. Chicago build a team around Jordan. by placing a wingman (Scottie Pippen), 3pt Shooter (Hodges, Kerr, Paxon), and a Rebounder (King, Cartwright, Longley and Rodman).
For LBJ, Cleveland tried to put in Williams, Jamison and O’Neil to help out LBJ in the scoring. but they still could not get in to the Finals.

4. Hand Check- in the Jordan Era there is no hand check foul… so it is much more physical.

The list can go on and on… but the bottom line is, In the Jordan era, no one where able to take the title away from the Bulls. There are many NBA greats like, Grant Hill, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, John Starks, Patrick Ewing and so many others have tried. It even come to a point that Jordan quit Basketball since there where no challenge.

Eagles lost in the hands of the defending champions

Height is might, this was the dilemma of the Eagles as they face the 6″3 center of the WildCats Raymond Tiongco. Tiongco scored 23 points and 21 rebounds and 8 blocks.
Tristan Yoro was able to play the game the first time with the absence of Jay Ong. even with his smooth shot in the 3 point line. it is not enough to beat the WildCats
